Maybelline Colossal Liner review

Maybelline New York India has introduced yet another innovative product to its Colossal Family - The Maybelline Colossal Liner.

The Colossar Liner is an interesting product - eyeliner with a felt pen tip.Being a working girl, I often ignore applying an eye liner before going to work only because of the time and effort required to get the perfect look. The product solves most of our eyeliner application woes. The Maybelline Colossal Liner gives you a precise and intense application which can easily be mistaken for a liquid eyeliner.

It comes in a black body with yellow overtones. The cap does not come off easily even if you are carrying the liner in your pouch. This makes it easy to carry in your purse.

It is has a felt pen tip which makes application super easy. It gives an intense colour to the eyes which resembles a liquid eyeliner. It glides smoothly on your eyelids and gives it a jet black colour even with a single application. It is slightly wet on application but dries very quickly. It is smudge proof and I found the liner intact even after I came back from work. It is easy to remove as well as leaves behind no pigments. The liner is very helpful for beginners who are looking out for the perfect look.

It is priced at Rs.425 for 1.2ml.

Pros:

1. Gives an intense look
2. The felt tip helps in precise application
3. It is smudge proof and waterproof
4. Causes no irritation in my eyes
5. Gives the convenience of a kajal and the intensity  of a liquid liner.

Cons:
The ingredients are not mentioned.

Together we can

My parents are the biggest blessing God has given me. They are my motivators, philosophers and my guardian angels.

Seeing them everyday- smiling, laughing, quarelling with each other fills me a sense of fulfillment that no other thing in the world does. No matter what are the kind of worries I am facing, a simple hug from them makes everything seem fine. The best part is that with a simple smile, they can make everything okay.

I am grateful to  https://housing.com/.https://housing.com/. for giving me an opportunity to write about this. Often in our busy schedules, we forget to thank people close to our lives. But that doesnt mean we are not thankful to them for every little thing they do. When I saw this opportunity, I thought this is the perfect opportunity to write my feelings down.

I strongly believe that miracles lie in simple things in life. You never know when a small little thing can inspire you.

Sometimes God's signs are hidden in daily life. A simple thing you hear on tv or  in everyday conversations can give you the guidance you have been craving for.  It was one such incidents which gave me a sign that you might face roadblocks but you must never forget to go on for the people we love. They are the same people who crave to see us happy and our smile brightens up their lives.
With ruthless corporate jobs where you are as good as your last assignment, life often gets tough. Despite putting in your best efforts, only results seem to speak. You start losing hope in your own capabilities and feel demotivated.

It was once such difficult day at work. By the time I reached home, I was both emotionally and physically drained. The moment the door opened, a warm smile invited me. I smiled back.

A nice warm cup of green tea was waiting for me. Both my parents were delighted to have me back at home in the evening and shared their day's chores with me. I sat down with the cup and chatted away without mentioning any of my work woes. A fun filled challenging board game was the next step. During the game, we laughed a lot on stupid things and that took away my work woes. That evening we bonded even without sharing our worries. Though neither of us spoke anything serious or philosophical, it gave me a certain encouragement which no other things could have ever given me.

All the fun, laughter and the warmth from them made me feel no matter which obstacle comes in my life, if we are together in this journey, nothing can beat us. It filled me with a new ray of hope to keep those smiles intact on their faces. This feeling will keep me motivated to perform my best.

Look up for the people you love

Often in life I have been bogged down with a lot of negative thoughts. There are times when nothing seems alright. You seem to blame everything in your life and forget to count the blessings in your life.

It was one of those days when life seemed too difficult to handle. With a few setbacks, both professionally and personally, I was trying to make sense of my life. Even though I was in office with a huge list of "To Dos" , all I could think of all day were the disappointments.

I was aimlessly going through Facebook when I suddenly I saw one of friend's post who had shared a page:Fight Leukemia with Sagnik Chatterjee aka Logens

A page sharing a  story of a 4 year old fighting against a life threatening disease.  The cute looking innocent face on the page hooked me onto it. Following the links posted by others, I came across many other stories of people and their struggle for survival. But their Facebook pages and the pictures said nothing about their pain they were going through. There were smiles, optimism and hope all over the page.

Though the little one's parents were frantically looking for donors and trying their best to give a new life to their little one, they were so optimistic about life :)

It was this story which made me realize that life is not meant to be lives only for you. Sometimes, we need to live for the people who love us so much.

Though a lot has been said on live and hope, it is my belief that one should never loose hope. you never know when a miracle manifests itself in its own way.

Note: The people mentioned in the post have a voluntary organization dedicated to their little angel. It would be great if all of you can help in your little way to mke their inititiave a huge success and play your part in making a difference in the life of a little one. Review: Garnier's new Pure Active Exfoliating Apricot face scrub

Face scrubs are a must have in every girl's skin care it. They gently scrub off the dead cells and the accumulated dirt and grime to give you a fresh and soft feeling.

Garnier Pure Active has come up with an exciting product - The Pure Active exfoliating apricot face scrub. It promises to pack in the power of 1500 beads with every wash for a flawless looking skin.

Apricots are known for their benefits for a healthy skin. It is considered one of the exfoliating properties. You can find out about more benefits by clicking here.

The product comes in a nice inverted tube which is easy to use and causes minimum wastage. The moment you take out a small amount in your hand, you feel the apricot beads in your hand and can experience the welcome aroma of fresh apricots.

The pack instruction mentions gently massaging the cream on your wet face before washing off clean water.

After using the product on my face as per the pack instructions, my skin felt smooth and clean. It does not dehydrate the skin because of its creamy texture as is the case with other face scrubs. However, if you have very dry skin, you might have to use a moisturizer after scrubbing. Whether or not the skin feels dry, I apply a moisturizer or sunscreen after using a scrub.

The product is priced at Rs.70 for a 50g pack.

Lets look at the Pros and Cons:

Pros:
1. Nice creamy texture
2. welcome aroma of dried apricots the moment you open the tube
3. The skin feels soft and clean after usage
4. Does not cause skin drying
5. Affordable product

Cons:
I didn't find any disadvantage in the product

Overall, A good product. You must try it out.

How to keep your skin happy & healthy during Holi

Holi is here and we are all excited to get drenched in its spirit.
Though the festival itself is a very happy and colourful one, we women often shudder at the thought of stepping out and playing Holi or even applying a little bit of gulal.

Because the festival often comes along with a lot of problems for our hair, skin, nail and eyes.

Dr Sirisha Singh, the founding member and Medical Director of The Skin Center, guides you to a fuss-free Holi with minimal damage.

Before You Step Out to Play Holi
  • Apply moisturizer generously all over your body
  • Apply coconut or olive oil through your hair to prevent damage from the harsh colors.
  • Apply a thick coat of nail paint and extend the nail paint to the adjacent skin to prevent the colors from settling in.
  • Apply a rather thick coat of sunscreen as the sun is usually harsh with a high UV index this time of the year.
  • Wear full sleeved tops and pants to cover up as much skin as possible and reduce skin exposure.
While Playing with Colors
  • Nowadays, organic colors are a welcome trend, so try and stick to them.(Learn How to make organic colours, click here )
  • Keep drinking plenty of water or clear fluids to keep yourself and your skin hydrated.
  • Alcohol has a dehydrating effect on the body, so try and moderate your alcohol intake to the minimum.
  • Wash off the colors at the slightest hint of an itch to minimize the severity and extent of a rash.

After Enjoying the Festival of Joy and Colors
  • Brush off all the excess color from your body and hair immediately after you stop playing.
  • Remove the nail paint before taking a shower.
  • Immediately take a bath with lukewarm water using a mild shampoo as well as a gentle face and body cleanser.
  • If the colors do not come away easily, apply generous amount of cleansing milk all over the body, wait for 3-5 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
  • Make sure to use a good conditioner on the lower half of the hair length immediately after shampooing.
  • After the bath, apply a generous amount of skin healing cream or a soft moisturizer all over your body to help the skin heal.
  • Also, use a copious amount of hand cream formula or oil to avoid any roughness on your hands.
  • Consult a dermatologist if a rash appears and persists.
Follow these simple DIY tips for a safe, happy and hassle-free Holi with your family and friends.
